The contract was renewed, and the relationship grew year to year. About a year and a half in business, she brought in our training contract with Success Academy Charter Schools (SACS) in NYC. Stephanie built EMC’s customer base one by one. With the first onsite CPR training a success, her drive to get more clients was amplified. All it took was one successful conversation to bring in the first customer, a childcare center a couple of hours away. Using a spare bedroom as an office, Stephanie made cold calls in an attempt to acquire clients. She did not have a business background or mentorship to provide guidance. While she had several years of experience as a CPR instructor, the task of building a company from the ground up was going to be a learning experience. The company was founded in July 2010 by Stephanie Duehring in New Jersey.
